Installing and Using Linux On Your ComputerThe Fixer wizard 100pix

For beginning and advanced computer users, this class will begin by installing the most popular version of the Linux operating system on your portable or tablet computer. Linux can be installed beside Windows 7, ME and others (not Windows 8), allowing you the choice of your old Windows operating system or new Linux every time you start your computer.

Linux is a robust operating system, at least as reliable, versatile and easy to use as Windows with most experienced users preferring it soon after they start.

Software for word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Internet browsing, music, video, graphics, along with regular updates are all available FREE with Linux and will be explored in this class.

This class will cover installing Linux Mint on your computer and with it, Internet use, e-mail setup and use, word processing, spreadsheets, uploading photos, graphics manipulation, organizing your files and more. Students will buy a copy of the operating system that they can legally, easily install on as many computers as they wish.
