Bitterroot Neighborhood Posse

The new patch is now under construction To save you some looking around for it, here’s the contract:   Bitterroot Neighborhood Posse purpose, principles, bylaws Responsible adults have the right and responsibility to participate in the defense of, and emergency response for their neighborhoods. To this end, we join together forming a mutual-aid organization as outlined in this document. There is nothing confrontational about it, nor is there any question of the legality of our right to freely associate and assemble. We take the responsibility to actively participate in the defense of our own life, liberty and property, as well as that of our families, neighbors and community. We renounce initiation or threat of force or fraud against persons or […]

posse meeting Tuesday

The next posse meeting is April 2 at 1900 hrs. This will be a very significant one for the Neighborhood Posse of Ada County. The good news is the posse was called out on short notice and successfully rode to the rescue. We could have been better organized, but we could hardly have gained a better outcome. We have to count it as a success for our urgent response team and a warning to establish a better protocol for the future. The bad news for this group is that I am moving to Montana. It gets worse in that things have fallen into place to make the move a major rush. I have to be in Conner/Darby on April […]

join the posse

This is just an example of one posse within Ada County. Kuna happens to be small enough that one posse will probably be enough. Boise, on the other hand, will likely develop several posses for various areas within Boise. Any neighborhood group can pull one together if several responsible, active people decide to. — BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR — Join the Kuna Posse * Civil Defense * Emergency Response * Disaster Preparedness *Security for local events * Be a valuable part of your community while working with great friends All skills and talents are needed from trained veterans to those interested in learning emergency response, observation, reporting, ham radio, crowd control, community events, legal use of force, etc. Team leaders, […]

Neighborhood Posse

I met with the sheriff of Modoc County, in the very upper-right-hand corner of California. His paid staff is one twentieth (1/20) the size of the county posse. The posse is an independent, non-profit, volunteer organization that is called on for everything from the mundane to major regional disasters. They have been HUGELY SUCCESSFUL at reducing crime, stretching resources and securing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in their neighborhood. We should work to form similar groups in our communities. Neighborhood Posse purpose, principles, bylaws Regardless of who holds the office of county sheriff, responsible adults have the right and responsibility to participate in the defense of, and emergency response of their neighborhoods. To this end, we join together […]

neighborhood posse

Every neighborhood and community needs and deserves the ability to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively. This is best done by the neighbors themselves and better still if they can do it in an coordinated, knowledgeable coherent fashion. We therefore organize amongst ourselves and train with others who can be helpful in our training and in case the challenges facing us cross neighborhood boundaries or are too large for one of our teams to handle. Regardless of your talents or experiences, YOU can get this started in your neighborhood. Print out the three forms at the bottom of this article, and begin discussing them with a neighbor or two. If your interest carries you far enough, invite a coordinator to […]

unfettered, con-brio driving

I have registered for “March Madness” March 26th-27th in High Performance Driver Education group 1 (HPDE 1), which is the only option for drivers who have not driven with NASA previously and who do not possess a race car driver’s license. In this group we have an instructor who shows us the track in their car, then rides along in ours making sure we understand the rules, the track and how to drive where there are no speed limits, overtaking only where allowed. At some point along the way, first timers shed the ride-along added weight, but are still watched a bit for adherence to expected norms. Early March 25th, I expect to unload into Garage #7 which I reserved […]
