mushroom giants

Amazing nature delivered these big boys to my yard this week. This impressive pair quite literally just popped up in the last couple of days. In the adult education class I took on mushroom cultivation, I learned that the above-ground part we see, and think of as being the mushroom is actually the reproductive part of a very much larger organism living underneath it. As I began this post I realized there was no perspective, so I added a tennis ball and re-took the photo of the pair. Emergency Broadcast System WARNING!

This video is an important warning. Heeding it is nearly efortless, but requires we do pay attention and take very simple actions on the afternoons of October 4th, and October 11th. Grandma gets her Motorcycle endorsement

While demonstrating zero interest in riding her own bike and only a little in pillion, my wife’s brother (major HOG guy) delivered a 1978 Honda XL75 to her. On June 30th he and I strapped it onto the motorcycle lift with the rear tire not touching and ran her through the operation thereof. She immediately began researching all things about riding, and signed up for the first available beginner class and DMV written test appointment. Manual choke, hand clutch, foot shift, separate front and rear brakes with hand and foot … imagine all the foreign things there are to learn.
